Last year the XFL was purchased by The Rock and his fellow business partners including his Ex-Wife Dany Garcia. There was a lot of thought that they might be working with the CFL going forward, but that won’t be happening after all after a recent statement. The XFL is also pushing back their re-launch for another year.
They will now hold off on bringing it back until the 2023 season after things didn’t work out with the CFL. They issued a statement on things to the Sports Business Journal citing a new launch date of spring 2023.
“While our discussions with the CFL did not ultimately lead to a collaboration, the effort reinforced our belief and commitment to developing the XFL for international spring football. We look forward to seeing everyone for kickoff in spring of 2023.”
We’ll have to wait and see what happens when they officially get off the ground, but there’s no doubt The Rock and his partners are hoping it’s a successful and well-recieved outing.
