WWE RAW Results 5/17/21

** WWE Raw Results 5/17/21**

  • MVP is standing in the ring and presents Bobby Lashley. Lashley comes out with a group of women. MVP brags about Lashley’s big win at WrestleMania Backlash. Lashley says the Almighty WWE Championship reign will never end. He then says he was going to take the night off, but now he’s going to issue an open challenge instead. Drew McIntyre’s music then hits and he says he accepts. MVP interrupts and notes that anyone, but McIntyre and Braun Strowman can challenge Lashley. Drew then gets upset and attacks Lashley.
  • WWE announces that Bobby Lashley will have an open challenge tonight on RAW
  • AJ Styles defeats Elias. Jaxson Ryker attacks AJ Styles during the match resulting in Styles to win against Elias via DQ. 
  • The Raw Women’s Tag Team Champions, Tamina and Natalya, are going to appear on Alexa’s Playground. Looks like Lily has been dying to meet them. 
  • Riddle sent a message to the New Day and to Randy Orton in attempts to reconcile. He proposes to make the “party of two into a party of four.” Riddle wants Randy Orton to apologize to The New Day and Orton refuses because he is not sorry. Kofi tells Riddle that if he isn’t careful, he will be in the receiving end of an RKO. Orton gets defensive and Kofi challenges Randy Orton to a match tonight. Orton walks away from Riddle in disappointment.
  • Tamina and Natalya talk to Alexa in her playground. Natalya talks about how honored they are to have won the women’s tag team titles. Tamina seems uncomfortable and asks to leave, but Alexa hasn’t “asked the tough questions yet.” Tamina threatens Alexa by saying if she tries anything weird that Alexa will be black and blue. Alexa says that Tamina is lucky Lily likes her. They talk about how Tamina beat up Reggie. Alexa continues to talk about how Lily likes to collect the wings of dead bugs, teeth, and hair, which causes the Women’s Tag Team Champions to leave. Alexa wishes them good luck and says that her and Lily will be watching. 
  • Angel Garza defeats Drew Gulak. Garza picks up the rose and shoves it down Gulak’s throat. Guess Angel Garza is a man of his word.
  • R-Truth says he has to stay a low profile. Tozawa sneaks up behind R-Truth and pins him. Tozawa is now the new 24/7 champion!   
  • Another vignette is shown for Eva Marie. It was announced that she is “coming soon.” 
  • Kofi Kingston defeats Randy Orton. During the match Xavier Woods distracts Orton and Kofi rolls him up for the win.
  • Charlotte marches into Adam Pearce’s office and demands a one on one match with Rhea Ripley for the RAW Women’s Championship since she wasn’t the one pinned at WrestleMania Backlash. Pearce and Sonya Deville tell Charlotte that if she can beat Asuka tonight on RAW they’ll consider her request. She says fine and then Rhea Ripley walks in. Ripley tells Charlotte that she came to say that she’s ready for new competition and to her Charlotte is yesterdays news. Flair tells Ripley to be careful because history may repeat itself like the last 13 times.
  • Natalya and Tamina defeat Shayna Bazler and Nia Jax. During the match Reginald gets on the steel steps for a distraction, but pyro shoots out and he falls back. Natalya and Tamina take advantage of the distraction and hit the Heart Attack pinning Baszler for the win.
  • Sheamus defeats Ricochet
  • T-Bar and Mace are shown backstage. They say that since Bobby Lashley won the WWE Championship his title reign has had an expiration date and tonight one of them will end it.
  • Asuka defeats Charlotte 
  • John Morrison says The Miz might never be the same after WrestleMania Backlash.
  • Damian Priest defeats John Morrison and says he just might accept Bobby Lashley’s open challenge.
  • Another vignette for Eva Marie is shown. 
  • Shelton Benjamin says he is going to accept Bobby Lashley’s open challenge. Cedric Alexander confronts him and calls Benjamin worthless. Shelton Benjamin attacks Cedric Alexander. 
  • Kofi Kingston accepts the open challenge and will compete against Bobby Lashley tonight! MVP announces that the match was never said to be a Championship match. Drew McIntyre comes out and distracts Bobby Lashley which allows Kofi Kingston to pin Lashley. Kofi Kingston defeats Bobby Lashley.
