This fall WWE will finally be releasing a new console game WWE 2K22 after their last game WWE 2K20 was essentially deemed a failure due to horrible glitches, bugs, gameplay etc. This comes after the company skipped out on 2K21. The thought was that they would be able to use the year off to craft a much better product and bring fans a great gaming experience once again.

We previously reported at The Ringside Roster that September 10th was a possible launch date for WWE 2K22, however the company has yet to make any official announcements.

From what we’ve seen of the game thus far it looks promising, but we honestly haven’t gotten much other than a trailer and a few pictures which has certainly left people wanting more.

Brian Mazique of Forbes recently revealed more details about WWE 2K22 regarding the development process of the game and according to sources there’s a lot to like about it.

“I have actually spoken with people who have good knowledge of the game and understand what’s happening from a developmental standpoint, and what I’m told about gameplay at this point is that it is fantastic. That is actually the word that was used for the latest build. The people who were playing the latest build have said the gameplay is fantastic.

Anybody who is talking about gameplay at this point is probably somewhat close to 2K, so you’ve got to take it with a grain of salt, but I have been told that the game is playing fantastic and that the gameplay engine is completely rebuilt.

I also heard that the controls are much cleaner than they have been before. Now, what cleaner means, I don’t know, but the last thing that I heard about this (…) is that this feels like a wrestling fan’s wrestling game.”

We will have to wait and see how the game actually turns out, but fatigued fans of the most recent games will certainly be happy to hear this news. Most are hoping that WWE can get back to the core of what made games like Here Comes The Pain and SmackDown Vs RAW so great. A true overall has been needed for years and it looks like we may finally be getting it.

With SummerSlam around the corner expect a big reveal coming up soon, where we should find out a lot more about WWE 2K22.
