AEW has several big shows coming up in the next few weeks starting with Rampage this Friday and finishing with All Out in September.

However, fans that are planning to attend those events just received some big news. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, rising cases, the Delta variant and other factors Chicago city officials have announced a new indoor mask mandate.

According to NBC 5, masks are now required for all individuals over the age of 5. Dr. Allison Arwady had the following to say:

“Similar to previous mask mandates, masks can be removed at restaurants, bars and other eating/drinking establishments by patrons when they are actively eating and drinking. Masks can also be removed for certain activities that require their removal, such as beard shaves or facials. Additionally, masks can be removed by employees in settings that are not open to the public, if employees are static and maintaining at least six feet from all other individuals (office cubicles, for example).”

The first day for the new mandate is August 20th, the same day as Rampage’s show in the United Center. All individuals are expected to wear masks with no exceptions.

CM Punk is expected to make his big and long awaited debut at one of the AEW shows between now and All Out, so fans won’t want to miss out, but they’ll have to take a lot of safety precautions if they want to check out the upcoming events.
