Arturo Ruas & Marina Shafir Originally Scheduled To Be In Diamond Mine Before Being Released

Diamond Mine finally opened this week on NXT after weeks of teaser vignettes on the black and gold brand. It turns out Roderick Strong, Tyler Rust and Hideki Suzuki their manager Malcom Bivens were behind things all along, but there were actually supposed to be even more members added at some point including Arturo Ruas and Marina Shafir.

We’ve learned at The Ringside Roster that Ruas and Shafir were penciled in to join Diamond Mine later on before being let go from the company on Friday in the latest batch of releases.

WWE has now had to change things up and we may or may not see additional stars join the group going forward.

Arturo Ruas and Marina Shafir both have a legitimate martial arts background so it’s unfortunate that things didn’t work out as they would have been a great fit. Shafir is also the Wife of Roderick Strong and there’s no doubt he would have loved to lead a stable with her by his side.

We’ll have to see what happens with Diamond Mine going forward, but there’s no doubt some fans will be disappointed with this news.
