Adam Cole has been one of the top NXT stars in the brand since arriving back in WWE 3 years ago. The former NXT Champion signed a short extension back in July to remain with the company through NXT: Takeover 36.

Since that time Adam Cole and WWE have not been able to come to a longer agreement and thus his contract recently expired. It’s interesting to note that there has been no significant push to keep Cole around at this time. His most recent match saw him lose to Kyle O’ Reilly at NXT: TakeOver 36.

According to Fightful, Adam Cole is now expected to field offers from other promotions and was not at SmackDown last Friday like he had been the last few weeks.

Cole is now a free agent and is expected to have high interest from a lot of companies. AEW is the most obvious landing spot with his connection to his partner Britt Baker who is the current AEW Women’s Champion.

We’ll have to see where the former Undisputed Era leader chooses to go if something isn’t worked out with WWE, but right now it appears that all options are on the table.

Where do you think Cole should go next? Let us know at The Ringside Roster in the comments.
