WWE SmackDown Results 7/23/21

The following are the WWE SmackDown Results 7/23/21

John Cena kicks off SmackDown and demands that Roman Reigns comes out to answer his challenge. He says Reigns as the Universal Champion absolutely sucks.

Paul Heyman comes out and tells John Cena that Roman Reigns is here! However, he doesn’t come out yet. Heyman says he’ll respond later tonight.

Finn Balor defeats Sami Zayn.

Baron Corbin is interviewed backstage and says that the person who set up his Corbin FundMe account stole his identity and his money.

Mr. Money In The Bank Big E comes out to “you deserve it” chants. Before he can celebrate he’s interrupted by Apollo Crews.

Crews is interrupted by the Dirty Dawgs, who are cut off by Boogz. The King of the Guitar brings in the King of Strong Style, King Nakamura.

Angelo Dawkins defeats Chad Gable.

Bianca Belair defeats Carmella to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Kevin Owens is backstage trying to help Shotzi and Nox fix their tank. He walks off to find Baron Corbin, who says he’s sorry for insulting Kevin last week. He says it’s a bad habit he’s trying to break. He asks for Kevin’s forgiveness, and in return gets some money from Owens. The tank accidentally fires and hits Corbin in the groin, allowing Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode to steal his money.

Edge comes out and says he would have won the Universal Championship at Money In The Bank, but Seth Rollins cost him the match. He then thanks the fans for their support and he’s interrupted by Rollins.

Edge looks back to 2015 when Seth Rollins threatened to break his neck live on TV. He didn’t pull the trigger then, and that was a mistake. Edge says he’s learned from the evilest minds in this industry. He was in the Brood and the Ministry of Darkness. Rollins has no idea what Edge is capable of, but he’ll find out soon enough.

Edge promises Seth he won’t hit him if he comes to the ring. Rollins says he was going to come out here anyway, explaining that Cena and Edge coming back for handouts is disgusting.

Rollins says that Edge has been a scumbag and nothing would make him happier than to crush the dreams of the Rated-R Superstar. If Edge continues to push his button, Rollins will end him.

Edge hears enough and attacks Rollins.

Toni Storm defeats Zelina Vega in her SmackDown debut.

Jimmy Uso defeats Dominick Mysterio.

Roman Reigns comes out to the ring to address John Cena, and says he won’t face him at SummerSlam. He’s then interrupted by Finn Balor.

Balor says he’s not here to acknowledge Reigns and if he doesn’t want to fight Cena, he can fight him and Reigns accepts.
