WWE Wants Roman Reigns Viewed At The Level As The Rock & John Cena

Roman Reigns is the currently the Universal Champion on WWE SmackDown and he’s now held the title for 280+ days looking dominant in his time as champion thur far. There’s simply been no stopping the Tribal Chief.

Reigns returned to WWE with a new heel attitude seeking acknowledgment, paired with Paul Heyman as his mouthpiece a little over a year ago as well as his cousin Jey Uso by his side. Jimmy Uso who was sidelined with an injury for over a year, recently returned to the mix as well.

Although there have been some..disagreements between Roman Reigns and The Uso’s as of late, we previously reported at The Ringside Roster that WWE intends to keep the group together and have them work through their issues.

Wrestling News has now released a similar report, along with some additional interesting information about how WWE wants Reigns viewed going forward.

“The plan is to build Roman up so fans see him as being on the level of Cena and Rock but this is also about making Jimmy and Jey look strong and we will get there by SummerSlam. This will be a tight-knit unit in a few months.”

WWE wanting Roman Reigns to be seen on the same level as The Rock and John Cena is certainly a big task for any superstar. The jury is still out on whether or not Reigns can get it done, but the company will clearly try their hardest to make it happen.

WWE is planning to have Reigns face John Cena at SummerSlam. After that fans should expect WWE to work on setting up a match between The Rock and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38 or 39. Both The Rock and Roman Reigns have made it clear that it’s something they are very interested in. However, scheduling issues could come into play. The Rock is one of the busiest stars in Hollywood and his schedule is always packed.

Either way WWE is obviously intent on building the company around Roman Reigns and if currently you’re enjoying it, that’s good as it doesn’t appear that’ll be changing anytime soon.
