This week on the kick off of WWE NXT 2.0 we finally got a look at one of WWE’s most anticipated recent signings in Bronson Rechsteiner, the son of Rick Steiner and nephew of Scott Steiner, who is now known as Bron Breakker.
Breakker didn’t disappoint as he showed immense talent, power, ability and charisma fitting for that of a Steiner. He also picked up a huge win in his NXT debut over LA Knight. If that wasn’t enough of a statement he also had a stare down with new NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa to close out the show signaling big things ahead for Breakker.
A lot of fans were perplexed though as to why Breakker’s name was changed from “Rex Steiner” just before his debut which it was previously changed to. Rex Steiner seemed like a great fit, but it appears that the company had it’s reasons for doing this.
We’ve learned at The Ringside Roster that WWE changed the name last minute due to copyright purposes and the fact that the company likes to create and own the names and likenesses of their talent. This is the reason things were switched up and they came up with the name Bron Breakker.
NXT announcers were also told not to mention the Steiner name or relation at this time however they did get in the “Dog Faced Gremlin” line during his match.
When it comes to Bron Breakker WWE has big plans for him and if it wasn’t clear enough this week on NXT they are getting ready to strap the rocket to his back. Get ready for a huge push going forward.
Breakker is set to have a huge career in NXT and WWE and he already got started in a big way. Even if he’s not using the Steiner name he’s got all the talent to back it up. There’s no doubt he’s a future NXT & WWE Champion in the making and we may not be waiting long to see it either.
