WWE returns Atlantic City

WWE Atlantic City

WWE is officially returning to Atlantic City for its first televised events in nearly two decades.

WWE announced this week that Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown will emanate from Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on Monday, June 29 in what will mark the company’s first televised events in Atlantic City since 2008.

The event is being promoted in partnership with Visit Atlantic City, the Atlantic City Sports Commission and Oak View Group.

For longtime wrestling fans, this is a massive moment for the city and Boardwalk Hall itself, which famously hosted WrestleMania IV and WrestleMania V during WWE’s legendary boom period in the late 1980s.

According to WWE, tickets officially go on sale Friday, May 15 at 10 AM ET, while presale access will begin Thursday, May 14 at 10 AM ET.

Visit Atlantic City President and CEO Gary Musich called WWE’s return “another exciting chapter” for the city while emphasizing the worldwide attention the event will bring to Atlantic City.

Boardwalk Hall General Manager Jim McDonald also highlighted the rich history between WWE and Atlantic City, saying the venue is excited to welcome the company and its loyal fanbase back to the iconic arena.

This is expected to be one of the biggest wrestling events Atlantic City has seen in years and is expected to bring a major WWE presence to the entire boardwalk area throughout the weekend.
