We’ve learned at TRR via Fightful Select, that prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, there were some talks about doing a new program called NXT Underground. The show was said to be completely different from the new RAW Underground concept. It seemingly would have been a way to feature talent not included on NXT. Recent EVOLVE signings were apparently planned to be a part of it.
A pilot was shot in 2019 but never aired as it turned out that most people backstage were not in favor of the idea.
Although we might never see it on WWE TV it’s still fun to imagine how things would have gone. There’s certainly a lot of stars who may have benefited from the exposure.
