Mercedes Martinez teamed up with Jake Atlas to take on Xia Lia and Boa last night on WWE NXT, but things took a bit of a turn during a scary spot.
During the match Xia Li hit a spinning roundhouse kick on Mercedes Martinez that looked to legitimately have knocked her unconscious as she went stiff. This was further evidenced by the fact that the referee threw up the “X” sign and abruptly ended the match signaling that something was definitely not right.

The fear was that Martinez could have suffered a possible concussion or some other sort of injury. She was immediately taken and hospitalized as she was being evaluated.
We’ve learned at The Ringside Roster that at this time it appears that Martinez is “doing ok” after the situation, although no other information was provided at this time.
It looks as though the kick from Xia Li clearly connected a bit more than expected leaving Martinez unconscious and likely a bit shaken up.
