Pat McAfee Lays Down Big Challenge & Dares Adam Cole To Come To SmackDown

Pat McAfee and Adam Cole had possibly the greatest rivalry in NXT last year which culminated in a showdown at NXT: TakeOver 30.

Pat McAfee didn’t win the match, but he did prove that he’s more the capable in between the ropes. Now McAfee is on SmackDown as a part of the commentary team calling the action.

While speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Adam Cole took a shot at Pat McAfee while stating  that McAfee is an embarrassment, when asked about McAfee’s group with Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch.

“Pat McAfee, again, the fact that he has tricked so many people into working alongside him kind of blows my mind that was a really, really big issue for me, but again, my hatred for Pat was so strong that again, it could have been anybody and I was laser-focused on Pat the whole time.

I wouldn’t want to talk about that embarrassment Pat McAfee either, I don’t blame him,”

While speaking on his podcast The Pat McAfee Show, Pat McAfee responded to Cole’s comments about him. McAfee was quick to lay out a challenge to him in the process.

“This morning he called me an embarrassment or something like that and went on this entire run. Hey Adam Cole, pal, listen. You are talking to mister Friday night now. Run your mouth on my internet? Come over Friday pal, say what you gotta say, and eat another boot to the f**king mouth.”

Adam Cole is scheduled to face Karrion Kross, Kyle O’Reilly, Pete Dunne and Johnny Gargano at NXT: TakeOver In Your House in a Fatal 5-Way match this Sunday for the NXT Championship.

We’ll have to see if Adam Cole can become NXT Champion once again, but it seems like another clash between McAfee and Cole could be on the way at some point.

We previously reported at The Ringside Roster that WWE is planning another draft for this summer and NXT may be included. It’s possible we could see Cole drafted to SmackDown and their feud reignited at that point.
