Mercedes Martinez was knocked unconscious by Xia Lia after suffering a nasty kick this week on WWE NXT.
We previously reported that Martinez was immediately hospitalized after the match, but was said to be doing ok after initial evaluations. No other information was available at the time.
However, we’ve learned at The Ringside Roster that after further evaluations it appears Martinez did unfortunately suffer a concussion.
She’ll have to go through WWE’s strict concussion protocol before returning to action, so she may be on the sidelines for a bit. The exact timeline depends on how fast she’s able to heal up, but at least she’s out of the hospital now and doing well.
