Vince McMahon Email on 3rd Party Ban

Earlier today, WWE put an end to their Superstars having Twitch streaming accounts and doing Cameo videos for fans.

This was said to be due to sensitive information being leaked. They were given 30 days to cease all third party activity by Vince McMahon. Many people in the locker room were reportedly furious about this. Vince McMahon also made it clear that he owns the Superstars real names as well do to the wording in their contracts.

Fightful got the actual email that Vince McMahon sent his Superstars. You can read it here:

”Furthering my comments last Sunday regarding the reinvention of our product, it is imperative that we promote and protect our brand in every conceivable way. Some of you are engaged with outside 3rd parties using your name and likeness in ways that our detrimental to our company. ”

“It is imperative that these activities be terminated within the next 30 days (by Friday October 2). Continued violations will result in fines, suspension or termination at WWE’s discretion. These actions are necessary in order to rebuild our brand as we enter the next phase of growth at WWE.
I thank you for your cooperation in this matter and for all of your efforts towards the rejuvenation of WWE.

Vince.”

CM Punk, Renee Young and Mick Foley have since commented on the situation with Foley noting that it was “a crummy thing to do”.
