When it comes to wrestling the “Too Sweet“ phrase as well as the hand gesture is as infamous as they come. It’s right up there with Degeneration-X’ “Suck It”. However, the rights to the former have been battled over for years. Today is the newest chapter in the saga.
We’ve now learned at The Ringside Roster that AEW has registered a trademark for “Too Sweet. It was registered on January 11th. This new registration will allow AEW to release merchandise and use the term in entertainment services in pro wrestling.
WWE let the trademark expire back in 2017, but it looks like AEW plans to capitalize on things. We certainly can’t blame them either.
