Daniel Bryan was in a huge match at WrestleMania 37 against Roman Reigns and Edge for the Universal Championship.

After Edge won the 2021 Royal Rumble and selected to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, it was set to be a one on one contest. However, WWE had a change of plans and inserted Daniel Bryan in the match at the last minute.

Bryan recently sat down with BT Sport where he spoke about the match and how he kept trying to get out of being in it.

“I kept trying to get out of it too. You know, this is a heck of a story, ten years to do the day that he was forced to retire.’ It was shortly after Elimination Chamber, in the build to the singles match I had with Roman at Fastlane, it was like, ‘this is going to be a stick Daniel Bryan in here thing.’ Not to say that I didn’t want to be part of it, I just thought it would be such a strong main event, just the two of them. WrestleMania 30, it felt like with the way the crowd was reacting with Batista and Randy, they kind of needed me in there.

The Ringside View: Despite how things went down the match was considered a success and received well internally, as well as with fans. Although Bryan, like some, may have wanted to see a singles match between Edge and Reigns. Perhaps things turned out for the best. For our money at The Ringside Roster it was probably the best match of night two.
