WWE SmackDown Results 7/16/21

The following are the WWE SmackDown Results 7/16/21

Vince McMahon kicks off SmackDown to a huge ovation and asks where the hell everyone has been!

Roman Reigns then comes out to the ring with The Usos followed by Rey Mysterio and Edge for their six-man tag team match. The atmosphere is absolutely electric people and the pop for Edge was huge!

Roman Reign and The Usos defeat Edge and The Mysterios in a six-man tag team match. After the match, The Usos beat down The Mysterios and Edge tries to make the save with a chair, but gets taken out by Reigns. Reigns grab a piece of the chair and is going to put Edge in a submission, but Edge hits a spear instead and uses the piece of the chair to put Reigns in a submission! Edge then raises the Universal Championship!

Edge talks backstage about becoming the Universal Championship this Sunday at Money In The Bank and he’s interrupted by Seth Rollins. Rollins says he’s going to be Edge’s biggest fan this Sunday and he hopes he wins even though Reigns has his number. Rollins says he’s going to finish what he started 7 years ago and put Edge down when he wins the Money In The Bank match and cashes in on the guy who innovated the match.

Sami Zayn comes out and talks about the ongoing conspiracy against him once again and wants the crowd to get up off their feet and support him. He’s then interrupted by the music of Finn Balor who comes out to a huge reception. Balor doesn’t waste a lot of time talking and quickly takes out Zayn and hits the Coupe De Grace as the crowd roars. Balor Club is back in blue!

Shotzi and Nox defeat Natalya and Tamina. During the match, Liv Morgan and Zelina Vega are on commentary and they start arguing and a fight between them breaks out. Natalya gets distracted and gets rolled up by Nox. After the match, Natalya and Tamina attack Morgan and Vega but Morgan fights back and stands tall.

Bianca Belair defeats Carmella to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Otis attacks Cesaro backstage before their match.

Cesaro defeats Otis by DQ. During the match, Chad Gable interferes, but Cesaro puts him in the swing.

WWE announces that Toni Storm will debut on SmackDown next week.

Paul Heyman has an encounter with Big E backstage and Big E says he would be worried about Edge taking the title from Reigns if he was Heyman.

Baron Corbin comes to the ring and says things have been so rough for him lately that they might foreclose on his house making him move in with his in-laws and his kids are eating spaghetti out of a can instead of Waygu Beef. Corbin says he might even have to fire his maid. Corbin says he’s started Corbin FundMe where fans can donate to him and he’s just asking for a mere $100,000. Corbin then begs the crowd to donate and he’s interrupted by Kevin Owens.

Owens doesn’t have a lot of sympathy for Corbin and quickly hits him with a stunner.

Seth Rollins defeats Big E, Kevin Owens, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
