Last night at WWE Fastlane we saw Roman Reigns retain the Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan.

However, it was no easy task and filled with tons of controversy. At one point Edge picked up a steel chair after prior interference from Jey Uso and attacked both Reigns and Daniel Bryan before heading backstage. Reigns was able to get the pin on Bryan to retain the title.

This has led to some fans wondering if WWE could be setting up a triple threat match for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37. We’ve now learned at The Ringside Roster that WWE is indeed expected to change things up and include Bryan in the match. This could happen as early as this week on SmackDown. It’s quite surprising given the focus on Edge returning and becoming World Champion once again. Some that we’re hoping to see Edge and Reigns face off one on one at the show of shows may be disappointed, but Bryan being added to the match could help make things even better as he’s a great worker.

WWE is well known for changing their plans, which appears to be the case here once again and unless it happens again expect to see Edge, Reigns and Bryan facing off for the Universal Championship at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL at WrestleMania 37.
