Samoa Joe kicks of the shoe and tells William Regal that he wants to resign as an NXT enforcer, and face Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver 36 on August 22nd for the NXT Championship. Joe asks Regal to sign a contract for the match and he does.
Carmelo Hayes defeats Josh Briggs in the NXT Breakout Tournament.
Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher defeat Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan. Ridge Holland then returns.
Dakota Kai turns on Raquel Gonzalez to set up a TakeOver match.
Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter defeat Franky Monet and Jessi Kamea. This happens when Robert Stone tries to help, but he messes up and causes a loss for his side.
Imperium Vs Hit Row happens, but Legado del Fantasma distracts Hit Row, allowing Imperium to get the win.
Adam Cole defeats Bronson Reed. After the match Kyle O’Reilly attacks Cole with a chair.
