This week on RAW we saw The Hurt Business implode in front of our eyes as WWE Champion Bobby Lashley took out both Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin. Lashley would go on to defeat Benjamin in a match later that night and will now face Alexander next week on RAW.
Lashley stated that he had grown tired of the incompetence and failures of both Alexander and Benjamin and no longer had interest being surrounded by them, which MVP fully agreed with. It was certainly a shocking move considering the success and current popularity of the group. Fans quickly took to social media to voice their displeasure at the decision and it appears that they aren’t alone. We‘ve learned at The Ringside Roster via Fightful that The Hurt Business met with Vince McMahon prior to RAW to try and talk him out of the move. However, McMahon simply put his foot down and things played out the way they did on WWE TV. This was said to lower the morale and mood overall backstage.
It appears the group was frustrated over the decision which is certainly understandable. After all it with the talent it consisted of and future possibilities The Hurt Business may have slotted in alongside a group like Evolution as one WWE’s greatest. Now that won’t be happening as things have been cut short.
