To say 2020 was a rough year would be a vast understatement. The pandemic has changed the world as we know it. That includes the Pro Wrestling world, and unfortunately things are also carrying into 2021.
WWE WrestleMania 37 was set to take place at the brand new SoFi Stadium in Los, Angeles California on March 28th. However, some big changes are on the way. WWE has just announced that they will now be hosting the event in Tampa, FL from April 10-11th instead. That‘s right two nights of action! This is reportedly due to several factors including (you guessed it) the pandemic, and arena scheduling issues with SoFi Stadium. As many will remember WrestleMania 36 was actually set to take place in Tampa before the pandemic caused things to change. It ultimately wound up taking place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Far from what the company had envisioned, but these are different times. Nevertheless once again Tampa will get it’s chance to host the “grandaddy of them all“. We aren’t sure what that will look like just yet..but at least it’s happening.
Don’t worry though because Los, Angeles will still get it’s chance to host, but now it will be in 2023 instead for WrestleMania 39 on April 2nd. Not only that, but WWE also released it‘s official date and location for WrestleMania 38 which will take place in Arlington,Texas on April 3rd 2022.
There’s certainly a lot to process, and be excited about. Things are still crazy due to COVID-19, and were still not sure when fans will be back at events, but at least they can begin to get a better idea of WWE’s plans for the biggest event of the year for the next several years.
