We’re fresh off the heels of AEW Dynamite… Winter Is Coming, where we saw a partnership develop between AEW, and Impact Wrestling. Kenny Omega won the AEW Championship and aligned himself with Impact Wrestling’s Don Callis in the process.
Omega will now take his talents and his title to Impact this Tuesday.
As exciting as that is fans have been hoping for another partnership since AEW opened its doors. We’re of course talking about NJPW. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic we saw a few AEW Stars wrestle in NJPW.
Tony Khan is reportedly still hopeful that the two sides can make something work soon, and is open to working with more companies as well including NJPW, NWA, AAA, and more.
It was noted that Khan has regularly talked with Rocky Romero as of late “to try and open doors to New Japan, feeling the odds are better to do something with Harold Meij gone.”
When it comes to the wrestling world and crossovers, AEW appears open for business.
