WWE made a lot of shocking releases yesterday from RAW, SmackDown and NXT including stars like Karrion Kross, Keith Lee, Franky Monet, Ember Moon, Scarlett and more.
When it comes to WWE and especially NXT the company is very serious about their youth movement. It’s become a sticking point and it’s no secret that they now want fresh young stars under 25 that they can develop and have for years to come.
Things look like they are about to get even tougher as well when it comes to joining NXT.
We’ve learned at The Ringside Roster that WWE is planning to offer shorter 60 day “prove it” contracts to a lot of incoming talent on the black and gold brand. If the talent is able to impress officials they would then get offered a longer deal. Exceptions are expected to be made for higher end talent.
This is yet another unique move by the company that will allow them to evaluate talent before signing them to a big contract. Judging by the amount of releases lately it could wind up being for the best so both sides can make sure they are truly invested.
