It’s not WrestleMania season just yet, but there’s already a lot of buzz around WWE’s biggest event of the year. The company often likes to plan its matches out well in advance, and this year may be no different.
We previously reported at The Ringside Roster that Randy Orton Vs Edge would be going down at WrestleMania 37 in Los Angeles. That appears to still be the case, and it’s possible we could see Edge return from injury as early as the Royal Rumble to start the build-up. It’s unclear however if it will still be for the WWE Championship as originally planned, which brings us to our next match.
Perhaps the biggest news today is that we’ve learned that WWE is currently planning a big match for Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania. Lesnar is not under contract right now due to him not be able to work out a new deal before his recent one expired a few months ago. However, knowing WWE negotiations are still going on behind the scenes. Word is that they would like to have Lesnar return for Wrestlemania and square off with both Drew McIntyre and Keith Lee. That would be a huge moment for Lee’s career win-lose, or draw if that match does indeed go down.
Roman Reigns is on arguably the hottest roll of his career right now as Smackdown’s Universal Champion and Tribal Chief. Recently we saw some interaction between him and Goldberg on social media with Goldberg calling him out, as well as on WWE’s The Bump where Goldberg claimed Roman was next. There appears to be a good reason for that as WWE is seemingly building up Reigns Vs Goldberg for WrestleMania. This looks to be the back-up plan if they aren’t able to schedule The Rock for the show to battle Reigns.
Things can and often do change before the “show of shows” especially with so much time until the event. However, no matter how things go down it’s looking to be a loaded event so far.
