To say that the WWE career of The Velveteen Dream has been interesting so far would be a huge understatement. Despite seeing his fair share of success in NXT, he’s also had a lot of issues.
Dream hasn’t been seen since losing to Kushida at NXT: TakeOver 31 back in October. Some have even started to wonder given his past and latest absence if he’s still a part of the roster. Triple H recently addressed things during an NXT: TakeOver Vengeance Day conference call.
“There’s really nothing to add with Velveteen Dream. We’ve gone over it a million times. A status update: he’s still training. He had a little bit of a physical thing for a bit. He’s still with us, still training, still on the roster.”
It appears Dream is still on the roster and WWE just simply hasn’t brought him back yet. It’s somewhat surprising due to the #FIREVELVETEENDREAM movement that went down a few months back, but the company apparently still has plans for him. We’ll just have to see when he shows up on WWE TV next.
