Saying that it’s an exciting time to be a wrestling fan would be a massive understatement.

In fact, not since the days of the wrestling wars between WWE and WCW has the wrestling world been buzzing the way it is right now.

In just a few days from now WWE who has sat atop the wrestling empire for years, unchallenged, will have weekly competition again on a large scale in the form of All Elite Wrestling.

For those who may have been living under a rock for the past few months, AEW will launch Wednesday October 2nd on TNT. The launch has tons of anticipation behind it as the upstart company led by Cody Rhodes, son of WWE Hall Of Famer, Dusty Rhodes, Kenny Omega and Nick and Matt Jackson will try to provide a true alternative to everyday WWE programming which has become stagnant over the years.

AEW already has a lot of support from fans who want something more and are ready for a change, but can AEW go toe to toe with the giant that is WWE?

Let’s look at 5 Wrestlers who could make that possible and lead AEW into the future at the same time.

1.) Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega AEW

The man dubbed “The Cleaner” and “The Best Bout Machine” has everything it takes to be a top star in AEW for years to come. Omega is one of the best in the business and has earned his praise by putting on tremendous matches around the world especially in NJPW with the likes of Hiroshi Tanahashi and Chris Jericho.

Speaking of NJPW, Omega is a former IWGP Champion and was the crown Jewel on the promotion before taking his talents to AEW. Although Omega is also a Vice President in the company, there’s no doubt AEW plans to build around him and rightfully so.

Omega is arguably the biggest Star they have and will certainly help them draw in fans and attendance as they look to contend with WWE.

2.) Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley AEW

Jon Moxley, formerly known as Dean Ambrose in WWE, set the wrestling world on fire when he decided to make a huge change and head to AEW.

After years of working for WWE and finding stardom as a part of “The Shield”, one of WWE’s greatest factions, Moxley became dissatisfied with the direction things were going for his character.

Upon joining the AEW roster, Moxley immediately set his sights on Kenny Omega. Moxley assaulted Omega at “The Double Or Nothing” PPV event with a match scheduled between the two at “All Out”; however, Moxley was unable to compete due to an infection and the match had to be put on hold.

Still Moxley is one of AEW’s hottest stars and fans can’t wait to see him return to action. When heading into battle with WWE who better to have on your side than one of their former top stars who still has a huge following.

Moxley can easily be one of the pillars of the company and looks to lead AEW into the future.

3. ) Adam “Hangman” Page

Adam "Hangman" Page AEW

When it comes to overall potential and heart there might not be anybody with more of it in AEW than “The Hangman.”

“Hangman” Page might not be a household name just yet but give it some time and he just might be. Combining a great blend of size, speed, and athleticism, Page is the whole package.

Although he failed on his quest to become the first ever AEW Champion losing to the legendary Chris Jericho (break out the bubbly) there’s certainly going to be big things ahead in the career of Page.

He is positioned to be the cornerstone and possibly the poster boy of the company and he’s someone who could draw fans to the product. It’s safe to say that “The Hangman” will be World Champion sooner rather than later.

4.) MJF

MJF AEW

When you think of great talkers in the business you think of guys like The Rock, Chris Jericho, and even The Miz but there’s another name you might be adding to your list soon.

It’s best to learn his name now and his name is Maxwell Jacob Friedman or MJF. MJF or Cody Rhodes’ best friend, depending on who you ask, is bound for stardom.

He’s got the look, skill, and he’s great on the mic. Fans that aren’t familiar with him are in for a treat when they tune in weekly to AEW. He’s already one of the most over stars in the company and it’s only a matter of time till there’s gold around the waist of the “Salt Of The Earth”.

He’s one of those special talents that commands attention when he’s in the ring and is bound to draw some eyes to the company.

5.) Darby Allin

Darby Allin AEW

Darby Allin is a name that most may not have heard of in the wrestling industry. It’s wasn’t till AEW signed him and he made his first appearance in a match at “All In” that fans worldwide got a taste of what Allin was all about.

What Allin lacks in size, he makes up in intensity and violence. One of AEW’s more mysterious talents Allin fully embraces his dark side, much like WWE’s Finn Balor. However, it seems to have really caught on with fans as he’s already one of their most popular stars.

The sky is the limit for Allin as he’s an extremely marketable talent. Fans are sure to tune in every week and be impressed.

The Ringside View: AEW is a promotion that prides itself on being about the fans and about opportunity. For years both fans and wrestlers alike have been craving something new.

It wouldn’t be shocking to see other big names make their way into the company but with these five stars on their roster AEW as well as several others they certainly have some great talent to kick them off when they launch on TNT this Wednesday at 8PM/EST as AEW gets ready to “Change The World” of wrestling.
